Review
With a beautiful look and a Windows logo turned into a windmill icon, this powerful software application promises us to speed up our computers and get Windows to work properly and customized to our likes. Well, it's gonna take some work from you to get the job done, unless you use the Tweak-XP Pro Auto-Tuner wich is designed to save you time. But, like any other standard desgined product, it might not fulfill your needs and a pretty suspicious warning is display when you launch it.
So, if you don't want to leave the control on the Tweak-XP Auto-Tuner's hands how hard does it get? Not that much. It's not as hard as it is a time-consuming process, organized into four main sections that we will describe now.
The first section is System Tweaks and gives you direct acces to some important optimization tasks of your system regarding to hardware such as harddrives, memory, cache, system files and others.
You first select the category on the left, and the right zone of the window will display the options you can select. When you are done here, you can move on to the next section.
Next section is Windows Tweaks and lets you customize and configure Windows, tight to your needs. It could be a little bit boring since it has a lot of categories to work on. Anyway, you can take a look just to the ones you want. First two categories are Windows Tweaks I and II and gather general configurations settings about how windows works. Another categories are “Hide Taskbar Items”, “Change Desktop Style”, “Autostart settings”, Windows XP Auto-logon”, “Change System folders”, “Virtual drives” and many more. The most of them requires only a few clicks to do.
The third section is Windows Utilities and have a pretty good set of handy tools, for instance: Password generator, so you don't have to invent a lot of names; Zip-file Doctor, to fix errors on this kind of files; Time Synchronization to connect to a time server; Registry cleaner, to clean the mess up; Disc drive doctor, checkdisk like tool; Backup activation files tool; Clean unnecessary files tool and others.
Fourth section is Internet Tweaks to optimize and customize Internet navigation. Since it's a Windows oriented application, the tweak in this section are intended to work with Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. However there are a couple of categories oriented to connection tweaks, bandwith monitor and port monitor.
Finally, the Settings and Help section offers you a set of configurations for the Tweak-XP Pro itself and Access to help, purchase of the full version, access to web site of developer among others. |
